Mobile Health Mashup is a small research project collaboration between Wireless@KTH, Department of Communication Systems, and Motorola Applied Research. Frank Bentley, a principal research scientist at Motorola will carry out two pilots togeter with Associate Professor Konrad Tollmar and guest researcher Cristobal Viedma at the newly established lab for infrastructure on mobile services at the Department of Communication Systems at KTH.
In the first pilot study the TuVista sports system, developed at Motorola, will be used to test QoE factors when delivering video streams to mobile devices during sporting events. In the second pilot study a framework for building prototypes of mobile mashups developed at KTH and will be used, based on studies carried out by Motorola, build and assess mobile Health services.
The outcomes of both of these pilots match well with ICT Labs thematic areas, such as “Future media and content delivery” and “Healthcare & wellbeing”. Moreover, and most importantly, will these pilots generate both valuable research and opportunities for an extended Motorola –KTH collaboration.

IN BRIEF The main research focus of Wireless@KTH is to solve key technical problems in systems in Infrastructure for Mobile Services and Systems for Mobile Service of tomorrow. Not only physical constraints (i.e. physics of radio propagation, capacity limitations in networks etc) are considered in our research In designing future systems for mobile service, end-user and service provider demands, constraints and business logic also have to be modeled and considered to make an adequate and sustainable technical design.
